Often referred to as TOV’s, these medium-sized tomatoes are very versatile. They are harvested with the vine still attached to give them a fresh-from-the-garden flavour. TOV’s have soft skin with a juicy interior and make a wonderful addition to salads.

Merchandising Tip
Consumers buy tomatoes based on appearance and firmness so take care to avoid bruising. Display on one layer and keep at room temperature to ensure the juiciest and ripest flavour. Positioning tomatoes next to avocadoes on a dry table works well and creates colour contrast. Many consumers do not know that tomatoes should not be refrigerated so try using signage to explain that refrigeration stops the ripening process and affects the flavour.
